I ♥ Faces - Week of Wonder

I ♥ Faces Adult Entry

I ♥ Faces Kids Entry:

Another week, another contest! And this week's "wonder" theme left me wondering, how do I interpret wonder? In the end I had to go with my absolute favorite redeployment photo of a brand new Daddy meeting his baby girl with wife and mother looking on. He was in awe and probably still suffers from perma-grin, the relief was written all over her face. To me, this newly reunited couple and the new baby was "wonder" for sure. Then, when it came to the kids entry, I had about ten pictures pulled aside that I thought fit the bill. However, this afternoon we took cupcakes into my almost three year old's preschool (his birthday is tomorrow!) and his little classmate was just cracking me up. I couldn't help but "wonder" what she was thinking. Was she "wondering" how long she would have to wait before she could eat it? Was she thinking "if I eat this, then it will be gone?!" Or was she disappointed that it wasn't chocolate... Her cupcake conundrum had me laughing and I knew that I would use this photo for this week's contest... Swing on over to I ♥ Faces.com for a glimpse at some truly "wonder"ful entries or to join the fun yourself!

Such great choices. The first one gives me goosebumps! And the second one is adorable. Poor kid just can't wait to dig into all that frosting and sprinkles! Thanks for visiting my blog - glad you got a laugh! Makes my moments of mommy-failure more bearable if I can share the kernels of humor in them with my pretend internet friends, LOL!

Both great entries, Karyn. Love the girl's expression on your second photo. Your first photo is just priceless...both dad and child curious about each other. Beautiful!

That first picture is one that you are going to love until the ned of time. it is just a pure, beautiful moment captured with such clarity. And then, my oh my, what on earth made her look at the cupcake that way?! What an absolutely hysterical image! Great job, again.

Oh Karyn! You did it to me again. Made me tear up. That first photo leaves me completely speechless.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments! I love and hate that everyone has to reach for their tissue boxes when they get to my entry. Part of me hated to post another redeployment photo, however, reunions are sort of my life right now. We have hundreds of soldiers coming home from Iraq this month, my husband included and it's a driving force in my work and it all hits very close to home. Our blogs are an expression of our lives, right? And this is mine right now. Next month we'll be back to cheeky monkeys and toddler antics! (A happy family shot sure does make you feel damn proud of our military though, huh?!)

I just love seeing the Daddy see his baby for the first time. It is such a perfect moment of wonder. What a magical capture!

I love the cupcake cunundrum also. How sweet it must be to so little and so overwhelmed by the possibility that you do not have your perfect flavor of cupcake : ).

Both photos are fabulous. The first one brings such emotion with it; joy, love, gratitude (from me for the military), wonder. Excellent shot.

Love the the expression on the little girl. So cute. Fun colors.

You get my vote.

Oh! I am still crying from that new daddy pic. And the cupcake pic makes me laugh. Crying, laughing. That's what fun about iheartfaces.
