ADULT ENTRY:
KIDS ENTRY:
Okay, so a mother can dream can't she? There are moments, few and far between, but still, they happen, when I can see into the future and my boys are indeed friends. It may take awhile, but if my brother and I are friends, these two have it in them.
Julie wrote in her blog "I can think of no better friends than my daughter and Karyn's son", and I have to protest! Though Julie and I have not wed, yet, and we haven't resorted to hitting one another out of frustration, yet, we have shared hopes and dreams and stress and a package of fruit snacks or two. I would have to say that surviving a deployment as battle buddies will hopefully have us bonded forever, and our children would never have found one another if the Mommies hadn't connected over email and put forth great effort to organize outings and picnics. So when Julie called me up and mentioned that I Heart Faces was "friends" week I was totally game for an attempt to get the two of us, together, on the opposite side of the lens. The outcome speaks for itself, and really is a perfect portrait of our lives this past year! I will treasure this image as much as I treasure my friend.
Has it really been 13 weeks since I discovered I ♥ Faces ? How cool is this website? I've learned nifty tricks about taking better images, sweet quick fixes for editing problems, and I've made friends on the other side of the United States AND Australia, not to mention I've "bumped" into folks online who are actually living on the same Army installation! This website will boost your confidence (because tons of well meaning people will visit your blog and stroke your ego- this is of course the number one reason I return each week;) ), inspire you to take better photos, introduce you to people with huge talent and even bigger hearts. Don't waste anymore time, come join the fun by clicking on the link below!

THAT is beautiful! Perfect shot. I love the angle and the expressions they both have. Lovely photo.
I really like the angle you used.
Love the angle AND the capture of pure laughter!
That is such a happy photo! I LOVE it! Amazing job!
Oh, I love the joy in this photo!
They are adorable! Both smiling and holding still too!! ha. I'm glad to hear you and your brother are friends. I have a boy and girl and sometimes wonder about that.

LOVE this photo! So easy to feel the emotion behind it.
They look like they are fresh from a bath, pressed and cleaned...and smiling! What great friends they appear to be here. Very fun picture!

What a sweet photo! I really like the way the lighting is falling on them.
Wow, what a cute shot. Love the setting, lighting and angle (just like everyone else). I could picture this in a catalog for a very large store in Maine. Now, there's a new branch for your talent!
this is so great... :D
what a SWEET shot!! I really like the angle and the lighting in this one!
Oh, this is just TOO cute!!! I love it!
I love the angle on this shot. By all appearances, these boys already are friends. :) I enjoy seeing your pictures each week.
These are both great pics!!!! I especially LOVE the adult entry!!!
GREAT pics!
Adorable shot of your kiddos! Love it. And the group shot of you and Julie with the kids cracks me up. Plus, it's actually a great picture! You never disappoint - I love coming here every week to view your entries!
great photos!!!
Thanks for sharing!! (this is my second week here!)
You make me look GOOD! :) (and are you 12 in this one?) So much fun to the see the two different perspectives, thanks for playing along with me! Your friendship was indeed the glue that helped me survive this past year. And I am celebrating breakfast all day today in anticipation of tomorrow...cereal for lunch, oatmeal for dinner, I think...
As always, you've entered two awesome, beautiful, creative, inspiring photos!
Those are both really great shots.
Wow, I would say Wow is okay to use twice in this comment section. Now, how do two talented ladies get two 3 year olds and a lively one year old to play the game of "let's take a picture in a mirror" and all stay in the same room?(I bet the babe is well anchored) And !! to have everyone looking in the same direction? Awesome friendship with an awesome outcome. Where's Seamus? Julie's (non)entry on her blog is great too.
Very sweet! Creative, fun, inspirational!
I am so beyond impressed at your adult entry! I can barely get a non-blurry picture when I'm looking through the lens, let alone even think of holding my camera off to the side. AWESOME!
And I love the expressions on your kids entry as well.
Really enjoying both photos and the contract between the two with the bold colors of the little ones and the black and white portrait. A great self portrait! Great job!
Your post is making me a bit weepy Karyn. :) What a beautiful tribute to the amazing friendship you and Julie have. You have both been a blessing to so many of us as well!

I really enjoyed your photos!
Love how you got down on their level. Very good picture!
What a great picture.
What great pics of all of you. Nice work.
Both entries are fabulous.
awwwww. your friends self-portrait is perfect and fun and oh-so-in-the-moment of living & photographing with kiddos in tow.... :-)
I cannot stand how perfect these are :-) in a good way, I cant stand it! You are talented :-) Both of these are fantastic!
Somehow I missed the first photo. What an incredible and yet so fun capture! :)
Your photos are GREAT! Now that I'm all grown up, I know that there's no better friend than a sister. Hopefully, your boys will grow up with the same kind of bond. I also really like your photo with Julie. You two are so lucky to have been able to meet face to face through I Heart Faces.
Yeah for your special pick! Who cares who came up wiht the idea...your B&W is gorgeous, I look youthful with perfect skin and your image completely conveys our friendship. I'd love a print...when you have a spare minute. :)
Karyn,
Congratulations on being a choice pick! I love the adult friend picture and I think it's because of the kids in the picture with yall that take it over the top for me. When your children are small isn't great to have someone like Julie to be there during those tough times of the tiny tot stage!?
I loved this picture when I saw it! I am so glad you were a pick of the week! Absolutely fantastic photos!
