Exciting week at I ♥ Faces.com. They have just added a "Pets" category to their weekly contest, and though we don't own any pets, how on earth could I possibly care for and clean up after ANOTHER living being, we have loads of "pet aquaintances". As usual, I had a really hard time deciding on my kiddo entry this week, I had to make a few calls in fact, a vote before the vote if you will! See my next blog post for the many I had to choose from.

PET: That owl is magnificent! I don't know that I have seen larger eyes yet! ADULT: The reddish brown of his eyes is incredible! Brown can be so hard to work with but you captured so much richness in this entry. KID: I love this picture and the way his eyes match the blurred background. The softness of the tones really draws attention to his eyes. Great choices, all!

I have a really great owl picture I was going to share, but it wasn't actually a "pet". What a beautiful owl .... is it really a pet? If so I LOVE it.

Great photos

Ok, the owl is awesome! The other 2 photos are great too! A beautiful set of browns, and a beautiful set of blues. You are able to make the eyes really stand out!

Okay, I've led you all astray, the owl is not MY pet. She belongs to a woman in upstate NY whom my family fondly refers to as "The Bird Lady". She is in bird rehabilitation, training, and education. She visits our county fair every year and is a friend of my parents and thus the access to be up close and personal with the birds. This owl is literally the size of a softball and SO cute in person. So, she is someone's pet, but we don't have any pets of our own since we're military and we move around so much and go overseas. Thank you for all of your great comments!
